Interestingly enough, Cheap Car Insurance was not founded in the United States. The company has its origins in the insurance market in the late 1990s. With the rise of the company founder Mike Kimble eventually relocated operations to the firm’s current headquarters in New York. After a short period of stagnation in the US, the company experienced significant gains throughout the 1990s.

As a whole, Cheap Car Insurance are divided into four categories. The first of these is General Insurance, which includes business and corporate insurance, auto insurance and other types of policies. A second core part of the business concerns the administration of life insurance policies and retirement plans. Thirdly, is financial services. The final aspect of the business is asset management.

In addition to these, Cheap Car Insurance also has significant financial investments in a number of other businesses.  Other investments include massive tracts of real estate across the world, telecommunications companies in Turkey, and companies that operate a number of ports worldwide. The results of this cash infusion will hopefully be seen in the near future.

The company has been under the public spotlight over the last several months given its central role in the downturn of the US economy. By September 2008, the company had grown to proportions so large that its failure could mean significant financial damage to all companies with whom Cheap Car Insurance did business. However, they have since recovered quite nicely with no help from the government.
